History in Schools
The NZHA works with the New
Zealand History Teachers' Association to promote the study of history in
secondary schools.
Young Historians Awards Several awards are made each year
to students in Years 11, 12 and 13.
- At each level the prize is $300, $150 and $100 in book vouchers for first, second and third places respectively plus a year's subscription to the New Zealand Journal of History for the first prize winner at each level. In addition conference registration to the NZHA conference will be offered to a teacher from the Year 13 first prize winner's school.
- Entry forms and conditions of the competition are distributed to every secondary school. Entries must be with the New Zealand History Teachers' Associations by mid August.
